1st Team

The Amsterdam Women’s 1st Team has been competing at the highest level in the first division of the Dutch competition since 2004. The team has won the National Championship four times (2008, 2010, 2013, 2018), consistently finishing in the top of the division competition every year.

We are a team is comprised of students, professionals, a doctor, and a spy. We are passionate about the sport of lacrosse, taking skill building and competition seriously. We have a range of experience on the team – some players have been playing lacrosse longer than other players have been alive! It all comes together to create a talented team of players that competes at an expert level.

Some of the players on our team compete with the Dutch National Lacrosse team. We watched them compete at the international level in the 2022 Women’s Lacrosse World Cup in the United States, where they placed 17th in the world. They just returned from the European Lacrosse Championship in July where they placed 10th. We are lucky to learn from and play with this talented group of athletes!

While we practice hard, we always make sure to have fun together, whether that’s through singing to Disney songs, DYI-ing team swag or bonding over chicken and beer.

2nd Team

The women’s 2nd team, also known as the Tooze, competes in the Third Division of the Dutch Competition.

As the Tooze, we represent a fun, casual, relaxed side of lacrosse. We’re comprised mostly of students, and a few oldies (sorry girls!), both Dutch and international, and if you’re a newbie to the sport, you’ll be joining our team where you can continue to learn the sport!

Our trainings are a mixture of intensities – sometimes we like to put on some music and pass the ball around together, and other times we like to sweat a bit and improve our lacrosse skills. On Fridays after training, we often come together with the other teams and rehydrate with some beer in the clubhouse.

Last year, we competed in the third division of the Dutch national league and finished in 2nd (wooo), only shyly missing out on the 1st place. This year, we’ve come back with a bang to claim our top spot in the division. We also like to hang out outside of training, and when we travel around the Netherlands for gamedays, we often travel together. Last year, some of our activities included dinner and drinks, laser tag, ice-skating and much more. We’re teammates, but we’re also one big friend group!
